ortho@62 is designed to offer your child or you, the best in orthodontic (tooth alignment) and facial orthopaedic (facial growth and jaw alignment) that is available.

You can be referred to us from your dentist or you can contact us directly.

All the orthodontic treatment is carried out by Dr Duncan Harrop, who has been practicing orthodontics in general practice since 1982. He was one of the first general practitioner orthodontists in Germany to take up the then new and revolutionary ‘straight wire‘ fixed orthodontics, attending courses in London and Munich in 1988.

Invisalign was added to the treatment alternatives following successful completion of Invisalign training in early 2006.

orthodontics for children: treatment is available to children under the NHS but is limited due a lack of funding from the Government via the PCTs. The current NHS guidelines state that only severe cases may be funded ( case severity over IOTN 3:6 ).

Should funding not be available, or your child’s case falls under the NHS limit, we can offer you the treatment necessary on an independent basis but we will only charge you the fee we would have received should the NHS have paid! This is approximately half the normal adult rate .

Treatment of children below 11 – 12 years is usually with removable braces and over 12 – 13 with fixed braces, but there are exceptions to all rules.

orthodontics for adults: all orthodontic treatment for atient aged 18 and over is carried out on an independent basis .

We offer : fixed braces , either mini metal brackets or clear see though brackets.

We also offer the latest ‘bracketless’ and almost invisible braces called Invisalign – commonly known as the Hollywood technique!
